The jagged black rocks of remote Bénitiers Island look a bit like the clam shells for which the stretch of land is named. Travelers can sail the crystal clear waters that hug the shoreline in one of the small boats that ply Mauritius and this breathtaking island off the country’s west coast. The shallow sea is almost always calm and the view of the nearby Morne is breathtaking. Additionally, it is even possible to spot dolphins and whales during the panoramic journey between the continent and Les Bénitiers.
